Legrottaglie admits Roman desire

EXCLUSIVE
CHIEVO VERONA star Nicola Legrottaglie has told planetfootball that he is enjoying the greatest football of his career, and confessed that he dreams of one day pulling on a Roma shirt.

The 26-year-old defender has been in fine form this season for Chievo - who after the fairytale of last season have remained a force in Serie A.

Legrottaglie returned to the club from Modena in the summer, and has not only put in many fine displays at the back, but also managed to notch two goals.

"This is my best season ever - that's for sure!" Legrottaglie told planetfootball.

"This is all down to Luigi Del Neri. He is simply the greatest coach I have ever had the honour to play under.

"Up until the age of 20 I played in midfield, but my coach at Pistoiese [Enrico] Catuzzi said that if I wanted to become a major player I should move to full back.

"At Chievo we know how to work hard as a unit and we have always remained humble.

"You see that Chievo have never been relegated? Not in Serie C, not in B. These are the reasons behind this."

Legrottaglie's performances have earned him a good deal of attention in the Italian press, and the cultured full back admits he has ambitions to join a top club.

"I love Milan and they are my favourites for the title," admitted Legrottaglie.

"But to be honest my dream is to wear the shirt of Roma.

"Last season when I saw 70,000 fans singing at Stadio Olimpico it overwhelmed me."
