Schalke have denied rumours that goalkeeper Frank Rost is looking to leave the club after being dropped last weekend.
Royal Blues coach Mirko Slomka left Rost on the bench for Sunday's Bundesliga clash, replacing him with the inexperienced 20-year-old Manuel Neuer.
But Schalke have moved to dampen talk that Rost could be on his way out, insisting he still has a key role to play.
"The Schalke board is still very much planning with Frank Rost," read an official club statement.
"Both the player and the club would like to stress that there is no doubt whatsoever that he will be fulfilling his contract through to June 30, 2009."
Slomka emphasised that Rost had accepted his decision in a calm manner and refuted speculation of a bust-up with his keeper.
"Everything being suggested from outside of the club is complete rubbish," said Slomka. "It is 100 percent lies.
"Frank hasn't made any grave errors in the last few weeks, but it would appear as though the luck you sometimes need to save the really difficult balls has deserted him a little."
Schalke, meanwhile, have allowed midfield star Lincoln to return to his native Brazil to continue treatment on his injury.
He is expected to spend 10 days back home as he recovers from rupturing a muscle fibre.
Meanwhile, Schalke are keeping tabs on the progress of Rosenborg's Slovakian midfielder Marek Sapara.
