Hamburg duo pen extensions

David Jarolim and Sascha Kirschstein have both extended their contracts at Hamburg.

Hamburg duo David Jarolim and Sascha Kirschstein have both extended their contracts with the Bundesliga outfit beyond the end of the decade.

Captain Jarolim has penned an extension through to 2010, while goalkeeper Kirschstein has agreed a deal that will see him stay at the AOL Arena until 2011.

Both players have featured regularly for Hamburg at the start of the new season and sporting director Dietmar Beiersdorfer is delighted to have secured the duo's future.

"We are glad that we have reached agreements with these two players for long-term co-operations," he said.

"It will allow us to plan for the next few years."

Jarolim, who joined Hamburg from Nurnberg in 2003, is keen to bring success to the club over the next four seasons.

"I have decided to stay at Hamburg," he told Kicker. "I still want to complete achievements here."
