Vfl Bochum defender Aleksander Knavs will be out of action for up to six weeks with a knee injury.
The Slovenian international limped out of Bochum's 3-2 defeat against Schalke on Sunday, and an MRI scan has revealed ligament damage that will keep him on the sidelines for four to six weeks.
The news completes a miserable week for Bochum, who were knocked out of the Uefa Cup thanks to a last minute equaliser by Standard Liege on Thursday before losing to local rivals Schalke.
The injury will also rule the 28-year-old, signed over the summer from Kaiserslautern, out of his country's upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Italy and Norway.
