Isaak Boakye has signed a new contract at Bielefeld.
Arminia Bielefeld striker Issak Boakye has delighted his fans by signing a new contract with the club.
The new deal is a bonus for the 23 year-old who hasn't been able to play for most of the season due to suffering three knee injuries.
The new contract will keep the speedy striker at the Schuco Arena until 2008, by which time Bielefeld coach Uwe Rapolder will be hoping Boakye reaches his peak form.
Boakye's Bielefeld career started so promisingly after his ‚é¼750,000 move to the Schuco Arena, and with news of high profile departures this summer, many hopes will be pinned on his return to form.
Fans have been forced to look on in disbelief as the club's best players have expressed their desires to leave. Bielefeld are expected to lose Delron Buckley to a top Bundesliga side in the summer, and his name will be added to by the recently announced summer departures of Benjamin Lense, Ervin Skela and Patrick Owomoyela.
The exodus is set to continue further with the latest news that Matthias Langkamp also wants to leave the club. The highly rated centre-back is rumoured to be disillusioned with the club's inability to hang on to their best players, and has expressed his desire to join Wolfsburg.
"The player has told me that he wants to join Wolfsburg," revealed a despondent Uwe Rapolder. If the deal does go ahead, it is expected that Wolfsburg will pay around ‚é¼1.2 million for Langkamp.
