Eredivisie round-up

Ajax moved to the top of the Eredivisie following a 2-0 win over NAC Breda.

Ajax moved to the top of the Eredivisie for the first time since November as a 2-0 win over NAC Breda saw them overtake PSV Eindhoven.

A run of desperately poor form from Ronald Koeman's PSV has allowed Ajax and AZ Alkmaar to enter the title race once more, and the Amsterdam outfit are now in pole position, albeit having played a game more than their rivals.

Ajax are one point clear of PSV, with AZ a further two points back, after goals from Kenneth Perez (18, pen) and Ryan Babel (64) handed them a home victory over NAC.

At the other end of the table, Sparta Rotterdam moved eight points clear of the relegation zone thanks to a 1-1 home draw with Utrecht.

Darryl Roberts gave Sparta the lead on 25 minutes but Utrecht drew level through Leroy George with just over 20 minutes to go.

Sparta were reduced to ten men when Danny Schenkel was dismissed for a professional foul in the dying minutes, but they managed to hold on to secure a valuable point.
