AZ swoop for Lamey

AZ ALKMAAR have swooped to sign PSV Eindhoven star Michael Lamey on loan until the end of the season.

The full back has failed to make an impression this term under PSV boss Guus Hiddink, prompting him to consider his options.

Belgian giants Anderlecht were looking into the possibility of signing the defender, but Lamey has opted to remain in Holland.

AZ have showed improved form following the arrival at the helm of Co Adriaanse, but are still in the wrong end of the table.

However, Lamey, 23, should add a touch of stability and class to the back-line as AZ attempt to fight off relegation.

The youngster arrived at the Philips Stadion in the summer of 2002 from RKC Waalwijk, but has failed to make an impact this season and will look to get his career back on track at AZ.
