Feyenoord thump Den Haag

Feyenoord crept closer to the Dutch Eredivisie leaders with a 4-1 thumping of lowly Ado Den Haag, while basement side FC Zwolle took another hammering.

Feyenoord remain in fourth spot in the table after their victory but close in on the top three after making short work of relegation-threatened Den Haag at De Kuip.

Cedric van der Gun gave the visitors a surprise lead after 14 minutes but it merely served to spark life in the hosts, who drew level through Robin van Persie ten minutes later.

Kees van Wonderen put Feyenoord ahead on half time before van Persie grabbed his second two minutes after the interval and Sebastian Pardo made it 4-1 on 58 minutes to complete a comfortable win.

FC Zwolle stay in bottom place after taking a 5-2 beating from fellow strugglers Vitesse Arnhem at the Gelredome.

The home side quickly went 3-0 up after just 21 minutes with goals from Emile Mbamba, Nicky Hofs and Gert Claessens before Jasar Takak pulled one back for the visitors five minutes before the break.

Jhon ven Beukering made it 4-1 for Vitesse ten minutes after the interval before Georgi Hristov pulled another one back for Zwolle, but they still conceded a fifth goal on 78 minutes as they were condemned to another heavy defeat.

Third placed AZ Alkmaar lost ground on the top two after Edwin de Graaf's goal condemned them to a 1-0 defeat at RBC Roosendaal.

Former Sheffield Wednesday striker Gerald Sibon was the two-goal hero for Heerenveen as they recorded a 3-1 win at NAC Breda.

Sibon's first was quickly cancelled out by Ronnie Venema's own goal but he grabbed a second, along with a strike from Paul de Lange to hand the visitors the three points.
