They leapfrog AZ Alkmaar at the summit after Louis van Gaal's side suffered their first defeat of the campaign at NAC Breda.

AZ looked on course for their sixth straight win when Tarik Sektioui scored on 12 minutes, but NAC turned the match around in the second half.

Arne Slot pulled Breda level on the hour mark before Swiss loan star Johann Vonlanthen scored NAC's winner with less than a quarter of an hour remaining.

The other Sunday match in Holland's top flight saw two promoted sides face each other, as Sparta Rotterdam defeated Heracles Almelo 2-0.

Two goals from Ricky van den Bergh (17, 62) gave Sparta all three points on the day.
