Barcelona have lodged a bid of £13.7 million for Chivu in the last month, but Ajax have always insisted that the Romanian won`t be leaving.
However, it is understood that the Turkish champions are ready to offer more than Barca, plus extra for Dutch international Knopper, which could tempt the Dutch giants to part with two of their best players.
"We are interested in both Chivu and Knopper, and have been watching these players closely in the last few weeks." Galatasaray vice-president Mehmet Cansun told onefootball.
Chivu (pictured) has recently been ruled out until February with a knee injury, and The Turks would be happy to wait until then, as they are to finance a bid by selling Jardel to Benfica for £20 million.
