Ajax future won't be Grim

AJAX have decided not to extend skipper Fred Grim's current contract with the Amsterdam club.

The veteran goalkeeper, who is said to be 'sick' by the club's decision, has enjoyed two spells with Ajax - spanning 11 years.

The 36-year-old Grim has had problems with injury this season and Ajax boss Ronald Koeman could be making a move to bring in a new face in the Dutch club's goal next season.

Speculation in Holland continues to grow as to Grim's future but no official word has been made on where he will end up.

The eventual departure of Grim should give Ajax's current goalkeepers - Maarten Stelekenburg, Serge van den Ban, Australian Joe Didulica, and Romanian Bogdan Lobont - all a chance to make an impression for the 'number one' jersey next season.
