Ajax keep young Swede

Ajax have agreed a new deal with Swedish midfielder Rasmus Lindgren.

Ajax have agreed a new deal with Swedish midfielder Rasmus Lindgren.

The 20-year-old had attracted interest from Heerenveen, but he has now agreed a new two-year deal at The Amsterdam ArenA.

Lindgren arrived at Ajax in January 2003 from Landskrona.

Ajax have informed South American trio Luis Kasmirski, Sebastian Rusculleda and Gaston Sagnoy that they will not be offered terms.

All three have been on loan to Ajax, but they will now return to their respective clubs - Kasmirksi to Figueirense, while Rusculleda and Sagnoy will head back to Boca Juniors.

Ajax have also told Cedric van der Gun, Yannis Anastasiou, Pius Ikedia, Robert Zwinkels and Ruud Kras that they will not be given new contracts in the summer.

One player who could be staying on is veteran keeper Hans Vonk.

The veteran is wanted as number two and the 35-year-old should agree terms next week.

Ajax have decided to keep Vonk as neither Maarten Stekelenburg nor Bogdan Lobont will accept a reserve role, which means one of them will almost certainly leave.
