Reports emanating from Denmark have suggested that Newcastle are keen on signing the flying winger.
Danish daily Ekstra Bladet claims that Newcastle are keen on signing the 23-year-old who played under current Magpies boss Bobby Robson during his time in charge of PSV.
"I don't know anything about it, but as a rule we players are always the last to know what's happening," said Rommedahl.
"However Bobby Robson was my manager at PSV during the 1998-99 season and we had a lot of respect for him as a person. He knew how to talk with all the players."
"If there is some interest for me in England then it's really nice.
"I wouldn't have anything against playing for either an English or a German club."
