PSV storm clear at the top

PSV EINDHOVEN moved three points clear of the Dutch Eredivisie after a 4-0 thrashing of De Graafschap on Saturday.

Guus Hiddink's men bounced back from their own 4-0 Champions league beating at the hands of Arsenal on Wednesday to dish a similar thumping of lowly De Graafschap.

Flying winger Dennis Romedahl opened the scoring at Phillips Stadion after 20 minutes and Rene Bot put through his own net to make it 2-0 on the stroke of the half-hour.

Arjen Robben added a third goal four minutes later and Mateja Kezman (pictured) completed the scoring just after the hour to send PSV three points clear of Ajax at the top of the table.

Feyenoord lost ground on the leaders as they went down to a 4-2 defeat at RBC Roosendaal.

Thomas Buffel opened the scoring for the visitors on the half-hour but RBC came storming back and firstly levelled the scores a minute before the break through David Nascimento.

The hosts took control after the interval and Geert Den Ouden gave them the lead on 54 minutes before Henk Vos stretched their lead on the hour mark.

Pierre van Hooijdonk set up a tense finish by making it 3-2 with 14 minutes left to play but Bjorn Daelemans made the game safe a minute before the end to seal an impressive 4-2 victory for RBC.

Willem II went goal crazy at home to FC Zwolle to eventually record a 5-2 win in front of their home fans.

Tarik Sektioui opened the scoring just eight minutes in, and was quickly followed on the scoresheet by Cedric van der Gun who bagged his goal three minutes later.

Danny Mathijssen made it 3-0 five minutes before the break before Zwolle pulled a goal back in the 52nd minute.

That stung another wave of attacks from the hosts and Jattoo Ceesay and Sjoekov banged in a goal each within a minute to make it 5-1 before Lim Duan pulled another goal back for the visitors.

Twente and Roda JC played out a six-goal thriller at the Arke Stadion as bottom side Twente produced a stunning late comeback to claim a point against high-flying Roda.

Edrissa Sonko gave the visitors the lead on 59 minutes and Yannis Anastasiou made it 2-0 on 70 minutes.

Scott Booth reduced the deficit a minute later but the game looked to be over when Fredrik Berglund netted to make it 3-1 with just ten minutes left to play.

The home side kept battling however, and Jurgen Cavens gave them hope making it 2-1 with five minutes left on the clock and Ellery Cairo completed the remarkable comeback with two minutes to spare.
