Loovens set for De Kuip return

Feyenoord have confirmed that defender Glenn Loovens will be returning to De Kuip next season.

The 20-year-old has been on loan at Feyenoord's feeder club Excelsior and he has impressed enough to earn a fresh chance.

Ruud Gullit, who is taking charge at Feyenoord next season, also wants to hand Loovens an extension to his contract which is due to expire next year.

One player who will not return to the club next season is Belgian right back Pieter Collen.

The 23-year-old has been on loan at NAC Breda and technical director Mark Wotte says he will be loaned out once again.

"He will be loaned out next season," said Wotte. "In the mean time we are in talks with NAC about that."

Meanwhile, Wotte has denied that Feyenoord want to sign Egyptian Sherif Ekrami Ahmed - but confirmed he is having a trial.

"That boy wanted to train with us for a week and we don't object to that. But there's no concrete interest, because we don't even know if he's talented," said Wotte.
