New name in NAC frame

Gert Aandewiel has emerged as a leading candidate to take charge of NAC Breda.

Haarlem coach Gert Aandewiel has emerged as a leading candidate to take charge of NAC Breda.

NAC are looking for a successor to Cees Lok, who was axed during the play-offs.

A number of names have been linked with the post and Aandewiel is now reported to be the leading candidate.

Aandewiel has made a decent impression in his debut season and the 36-year-old could be set for the jump to the Eredivisie.

Former England international Tony Adams had been strongly linked with the job, but that trail has gone cold and this could pave the way for Aandewiel's appointment.

Timothy Derijck has returned to Feyenoord following the conclusion of his loan spell at NAC.

The teenage defender caught the eye during the course of the campaign and is set to get the chance to impress Kuip coach Erwin Koeman.
