Groningen have expressed delight at persuading Bas Roorda to sign a new deal.The 33-year-old keeper is an integral figure in the squad and has been handed a new deal which ties him to the club until 2008.
Groningen are pleased with the outcome, as they feel he can play a key role both on and off the pitch.
"On and off the pitch, Bas is one of the pillars of the squad," said Groningen technical manager Henk Veldmate.
"We are happy that we have come to an agreement."
Roorda started his career with Groningen in 1991, but has also had spells with NEC Nijmegen and Roda JC.
