NAC denied at the death

A late goal from Vitesse Arnhem denied NAC Breda a home win on Friday

A late goal from Vitesse Arnhem denied NAC Breda the home win they had been craving on Friday evening.

RBC Roosendaal seem certain to slip out of the top flight, but a number of teams could be dragged into the play-offs, NAC among them.

The Breda outfit looked on course for a vital three points as they seek to avoid post-season football, but they were cruelly denied at the death.

Vitesse started brightly and they took an early lead through Richard Knopper.

Cees Lok's charges produced the perfect response, as Leonardo levelled on 12 minutes and he added a second just after the restart.

NAC dug in and defended doggedly, but their defence was breached in injury time, as Remco van der Schaaf (pictured) grabbed a point for Vitesse.

Vitesse's effort was all the more meritorious, as they played the final 30 minutes with ten men following the dismissal of Michael Dingsdag.
