Trio in for de Groot

VVV are ready to battle with RBC and ADO Den Haag for Donny de Groot.

VVV-Venlo are ready to battle with RBC Roosendaal and ADO Den Haag for the signature of Donny de Groot.

The 25-year-old forward has been without a club since the summer and his hopes of finding a new home were hit by a serious knee injury he picked up last season.

A number of teams have been putting out feelers, but de Groot made it clear that he would not sign a deal until he was fully fit.

De Groot said in interview during the week that he is on the cusp of full fitness and is ready to find a new home when the transfer window opens in January.

"I'm fit and can do everything now," he told Voetbal International. "I am sprinting and shooting again."

Alerted to de Groot's comments, VVV have entered into preliminary talks with the player's agent.

However, there is every possibility of RBC and ADO entering the bidding and the pull of the Eredivisie could prove decisive.
