Sven names friendly line-up

Sven Goran Eriksson has named his England side to face Belarus on Thursday.

Sven Goran Eriksson has named his England side to face Belarus in the 'B' international at The Madejski Stadium on Thursday.

The starting XI is made up entirely of players that are in Eriksson's final 23-man World Cup party, with wingers Aaron Lennon and Stewart Downing handed their first starts for The Three Lions, while Theo Walcott will begin on the bench.

It will be Lennon's first ever appearance in an England shirt at senior level, while Downing has just a few minutes to his name after coming on as substitute against Holland last year.

Lennon will feel at home in midfield as Tottenham team-mates Michael Carrick and Jermaine Jenas form the central midfield partnership.

Fit-again Michael Owen will captain the side, with Peter Crouch partnering him attack.

David James starts in goal, with a back-four of Owen Hargreaves, Ashley Cole, Jamie Carragher and Sol Campbell in front of him.
