Scotland hopefuls see off Poles

Scotland B clinched a 2-0 win against Poland B in front of Walter Smith.

Scotland B clinched a 2-0 win against Poland B in a bid to impress Walter Smith at Kilmarnock's Rugby Park.

Gary McDonald and Lee Miller were the goalscorers in front of a crowd of little over 3,000 as the fans were left disappointed that local hero Kris Boyd could not find the net.

Pawel Brozek tested David Marshall and Adam Virgo almost put beat his Scotland team-mate when hitting his own post after a cross from Ireneusz Jelen.

However, the home side drew first blood through McDonald. The Killie star forced a decent save out of Lukasz Fabianski but converted the resulting corner, after it was taken by Gary Teale (pictured).

Soon after the interval, Teale's cross was cleverly left by Boyd and Miller provided the finishing touch.

Boyd threatened for the remainder of the half but was unable to get on the scoresheet himself as the friendly finished 2-0.
