Healy fit to face England

Northern Ireland striker David Healy will be fit to face England.

Northern Ireland have been handed a massive boost with the news that David Healy will be fit to face England.

The Leeds star picked up an injury in Saturday's 2-0 win over Azerbaijan.

Healy was forced off with a thigh strain, but the injury has been responding well to treatment and he should be fit to lead the attack against England on Wednesday.

Northern Ireland assistant manager Gerry Armstrong insists Healy will be fully fit to face Sven Goran Eriksson's men at Windsor Park.

"David is fine. He was just taken off as a precaution," said Armstrong.

"Everyone is now looking forward to the training in the build-up to the game."
