Del Piero not worried

Alessandro Del Piero insists he has no problems with Italian coach Marcello Lippi.

Juventus star Alessandro Del Piero insists he has no problems with Italian coach Marcello Lippi.

The Azzurri chief decided not to call on Del Piero for Italy's World Cup qualifier against Scotland.

However, Del Piero says there is no bad blood between him and Lippi, who has been his club manager for a huge chunk of his first team career.

"As for the national team, I confirm what I said after the match with Reggina [on Saturday], with Lippi there is ten years' relationship of acquaintance and esteem, so this missed call-up isn't a problem," he said.

Del Piero is still confident he will be playing at Germany 2006, which would be his third successive finals.

"If I continue to play in the manner that I have been recently then I won't have any problems regarding my spot in the squad," he said.

"I don't feel as if I've been ruled out of the running to be a part of the set-up for Germany 2006."
