Gilberto expects tough start

Gilberto Silva is not expecting an easy opening game against Croatia on Tuesday.

Brazil midfielder Gilberto Silva is not expecting an easy opening game against Croatia on Tuesday evening.

The world champions will begin their defence of the trophy against the Europeans in Berlin and the Arsenal star is predicting an uncomfortable start to their 2006 campaign.

With Brazil one of the last nations to play, Gilberto admits the players are itching to get underway after watching most of the other 31 nations begin their challenge to topple the South American giants.

"It will be a difficult game because in the World Cup the first game you feel a little bit of pressure," Gilberto told Sky Sports News.

"Some get nervous, some very anxious for the game but I think from what I can see everybody wants to play this game because it has been quite boring just watching games on the television."
