In the meantime, here's a little taster of the players we're rating as the most valuable for the forthcoming campaign:

Most valuable goalkeeper: Thibaut Courtois - £6m

Chelsea boasted the best defensive record in the Premier League last season and the Belgian is is set to be their first-choice stopper following the departure of Petr Cech to Arsenal. However, despite starting 32 times last season he picked up just 109 points, with only three bonus points collected from saves made. To put that into context, Costel Pantilimon racked up bonus points on 11 occasions from six less appearances, seeing him rack up just a point less than Courtois despite costing significantly less.

Most valuable defender: Branislav Ivanovic - £8m

Unlike his team-mate, Ivanovic justifies his hefty valuation, with 165 points seeing him rack up more points than any other defender last season. The Serbian supplemented his defensive points with four goals and six assists and was just one of three members of the Blues backline to make the Sky Sports Fantasy Football 2014/15 best XI.

Most valuable midfielder: Eden Hazard - £9m

Another Chelsea player and, like Ivanovic rather than Courtois, one that justified his hefty fee with the second highest points total last season. The 24-year-old racked up 149 points thanks to 14 goals and 10 assists, proving himself as one of the Premier League's best and a guaranteed popular pick for the new campaign.

Most valuable striker: Sergio Aguero - £10m

The Manchester City striker pipped Hazard to the top scorer title by a solitary point last season and heads into the new season's as the game's most expensive. His tally of 26 goals was all the more impressive given he did not start 10 of City's games, but prospective Sky Sports Fantasy Football bosses must be wary of a patchy injury record.
