Aston Villa will be aiming to recover from back-to-back defeats as they prepare for their Blackburn trilogy.

Young back for O'Neill, while Allardyce may use Dunn

Aston Villa will be aiming to recover from back-to-back defeats as they prepare for the first of three upcoming fixtures against Blackburn in the FA Cup third round. Villa have seen their bid to finish the Premier League in the top four hampered by defeats to Arsenal and Liverpool in the last week and now lie sixth in the table. Seven places better off than Rovers in the league, Villa also face Sam Allardyce's men in a two-legged Carling Cup semi-final this month.

Villa news

Ashley Young returns to the squad after missing Tuesday's 1-0 defeat against Liverpool as he was serving a one-match ban following his fifth booking of the season in Sunday's 3-0 defeat at Arsenal. Villa are also set to be boosted by the return of striker Emile Heskey, who missed the match with Liverpool due to illness. Manager Martin O'Neill is preparing to rotate his squad for the tie and could rest James Milner, Stiliyan Petrov, Gabby Agbonlahor and Richard Dunne. Marc Albrighton and Nathan Delfouneso, along with Steve Sidwell, James Collins, Habib Beye and Fabian Delph, could all start.
Blackburn news
Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce is expected to make several changes to his starting line-up for the Villa Park encounter. With the two sides meeting just three days later at Ewood Park in the first leg of their Carling Cup semi-final, both Allardyce and O'Neill are likely to rest their top players on Saturday. Rovers have some good news on the injury front with David Dunn back in full training and Brett Emerton set for a late fitness test after the groin injury which cut short his Christmas schedule. Dunn has not featured for the first team since limping out of the goalless draw against Stoke City a month ago with a calf strain. Vince Grella is still recuperating from his thigh problem, but Franco Di Santo is available after extending his loan deal from Chelsea.
