Sheffield Wednesday travel to Blackpool for a classic six-point encounter at Bloomfield Road.

Relegation six-pointer at the seaside

Sheffield Wednesday travel to Blackpool for a classic six-point encounter at the bottom of the Championship table. The Owls have drawn their last seven fixtures to crawl out of the relegation zone, but Brian Laws' men are without a league win since their 2-1 success over rock-bottom Colchester on March 11. Blackpool's league run is even worse and Simon Grayson's men are rapidly sinking towards a relegation place. The Seasiders are without a win in eight league matches, and back-to-back defeats to West Brom and Cardiff have plummeted Blackpool just two points away from the dreaded drop zone.

Owls doubts

Sheffield Wednesday's Graham Kavanagh, Steve Watson and Richard Hinds all face late fitness tests ahead of the clash at Blackpool. Midfielder Kavanagh missed Monday's draw with Plymouth due to a hamstring strain, Watson was sidelined with a groin problem and defender Hinds is still struggling with an ankle injury. Striker Deon Burton is suffering from blurred vision after scratching his cornea on Monday and winger Wade Small is nursing a hamstring strain. Both players are doubtful. Bartosz Slusarski, on loan from West Brom, could make his first start for the Owls if Burton fails to make it, alongside another loanee - Chelsea teenager Ben Sahar.
Pool news
Blackpool boss Grayson could ring the changes for his side's crunch clash at Bloomfield Road. The Seasiders surrendered meekly to a 3-1 defeat at FA Cup finalists Cardiff last weekend to increase their fears of an immediate return to League One. Grayson hauled striker Ben Burgess and midfielder Michael Flynn off at half-time during the Ninian Park reverse and replaced them with Paul Dickov and David Fox. That pair come into contention to start against Wednesday while Andy Morrell is also hoping for a starting role after coming off the bench to score against the Bluebirds. Midfielder Claus Jorgensen missed the defeat in South Wales due to a knock he hopes to shake off in time to face the Owls.
