Bolton v Wigan preview

Bolton are looking for a 100th Premier League win against a Wigan side who have never lost at the Reebok.

Both sides hoping to get back to winning ways

Bolton are looking for their 100th Premier League win on Sunday against a Wigan side who have not lost in their two previous visits to the Reebok. Thursday's victory over Crvena Zvezda may have put Bolton on the brink of the knockout stages of the Uefa Cup, but their league form so far this season has been woeful. The surprising 1-0 win over Manchester United two weeks ago is the only time they have picked up three points in their last 11 league games, and was only their second victory in total.

Goals

Wigan may have stopped their eight-game losing streak with a point against Manchester City last Saturday, but their recent form is just as bad, and they have now gone 12 games without a win. Victory at the Reebok would lift Steve Bruce's side above Bolton, but a draw looks the most likely outcome with both teams currently struggling in front of goal. Only bottom placed Derby have scored fewer goals this season than the two sides, with Bolton finding the target on 12 occasions, and Wigan on only 11.
Team news
Gary Megson is likely to recall Nicolas Anelka, Kevin Nolan, Kevin Davies, Ricardo Gardner, Jussi Jaaskelainen and Andy O'Brien into his squad after all six were rested for the European tie in Belgrade. The search for goals though is unlikely to be helped by the fact that strikers Heidar Helguson (ankle) and Ricardo Vaz Te (knee) remain unavailable. After being sent off against Manchester City, Wigan captain Mario Melchiot will begin his three-game ban, but Bruce is confident that Emile Heskey will have shaken off the hamstring problem which forced him to come off in the same game.
