David Bird looks a major doubt for Cheltenham's crunch survival tie with Accrington Stanley.

Bird doubftul for Robins; Duo out for Stanley

David Bird looks a major doubt for Cheltenham's crunch survival tie with Accrington Stanley. Bird has missed the last three games with a calf injury and looks unlikely to be risked on Saturday, despite the Robins' desperate need for points. Defender Shane Duff faces a late fitness test to determine his participation having suffered with sore calves in recent weeks. Those look to be the only concerns for boss Mark Yates who seeks a point to guarantee league football next term. Cheltenham will only be relegated if they lose and Grimsby (away to Burton) and Barnet (home to Rochdale) both win, with the Mariners also needing to reverse a six-goal swing in the process.

Stanley news

Accrington duo Dean Winnard and midfielder Alan Burton will be missing for the trip to Whaddon Road. Both players missed Stanley's 2-0 win over Chesterfield last week with groin injuries and neither have recovered in time to feature. Accrington manager John Coleman has no other concerns, though, as he bids to see out the campaign with a hat-trick of wins. Jimmy Ryan appears to have fully recovered from a knee problem, while Sean McConville came through most of the match with the Spireites unscathed and will likely play a part again.
