Cheltenham will again be without Michael Townsend for their home clash against Darlington on Tuesday.

Townsend blow for Robins; Miller may miss out for Darlo

Cheltenham will again be without Michael Townsend for their home clash against Darlington on Tuesday while David Bird is also a major doubt. Centre-back Townsend (ankle) was 50/50 for Saturday's goalless draw at Rotherham but failed to feature and will still be missing on Tuesday as the Robins look to secure the win that would mathematically secure their League Two status. Midfielder Bird was forced off just before half-time at the Don Valley Stadium having taken a heavy blow to his calf and is likely to miss out. Matt Thornhill, who made his return to the bench against the Millers and was a 43rd-minute replacement for Bird, should start from the off in the middle of the park. On-loan midfielder Aaron Lescott trained fully on Monday and is available having missed the past five games with a knee injury.

Darlo news

Darlington defender Ian Miller is doubtful for the midweek trip south. Centre-half Miller, who played through the pain barrier in Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Bournemouth, is struggling with a hernia. Manager Simon Davey is short of defenders, with Andrew Milne struggling with a back injury and Paul Arnison ruled out due to a hamstring strain, so Mark Bower could return to the starting line-up. Davey recalled Simon Madden to right-back over the weekend and he is likely to continue, but teenage striker Curtis Main has been ruled out for the season with ankle ligament damage. Mor Diop offers a fresh approach up front for Davey, who opted for a 4-5-1 formation at Bournemouth, with Tadgh Purcell operating as a lone striker.
