Colchester have concerns over midfielders Owen Garvan (hip) and Darren Ambrose (toe) ahead of Coventry's visit.

Goalkeeper Jamie Jones, who had a loan spell with the Sky Blues last season, is expected to be back from a hamstring injury which forced him to miss the 6-2 FA Cup win at Wealdstone.

Defender George Elokobi has returned to training this week, so could come into contention along with forward Gavin Massey, who was a late substitute against Wealdstone following his return from a calf problem.

Club captain Chris Porter has been stepping up his rehabilitation from a knee injury, but full-back Richard Brindley (knee) is still sidelined.

Goalkeeper Reice Charles-Cook should be fit for Coventry after a hamstring complaint.

The 21-year-old signed a new two-and-a-half-year deal on Thursday keeping him at the Sky Blues until June 2018.

Adam Armstrong and Ryan Kent are available after missing the FA Cup defeat against Northampton under the terms of their loans while Joe Cole could also return.
