New signing David Button is expected to go straight into Dagenham's line-up to face Bradford.

Daggers and Bantams battling to keep play-off hopes alive

New Dagenham signing David Button is expected to go straight into the starting line-up for Saturday's home clash with fellow play-off hopefuls Bradford. The Tottenham goalkeeper, 20, has been drafted in on an emergency loan as cover for Tony Roberts, who is struggling with a suspected cracked rib that could keep him out for the rest of the season. Solomon Taiwo and Jon Nurse will both return to the squad after missing the last two matches due to knocks sustained in the recent defeat at Exeter. Paul Benson, still not fully match fit following knee surgery, and Ben Strevens will resume their 32-goal strike partnership. The Daggers go into the game in 10th place, four points off the play-off places, while Bradford are two points adrift of the top seven.

      No new worries

The Bantams have struggled as the promotion scrap has intensified in recent weeks, failing to win in their last eight to slip from fourth to ninth. Manager Stuart McCall has the luxury of naming an unchanged side, though, as no new injury or suspension worries arose from the 1-1 draw at home to Lincoln on Easter Monday. McCall must decide whether to retain Michael Boulding alongside Peter Thorne up front or recall Paul Mullin, who is on loan from Accrington. On-loan Rangers midfielder Dean Furman, who has missed the last two matches due to a knee injury, is hoping to be back in contention. Winger Keith Gillespie and midfield pair Chris Brandon and Nicky Law are also pushing to be included in the starting line-up.
