Bayern Munich opened up a three-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga by beating Darmstadt 3-0.

The Bavarians' two summer recruits from Juventus - Arturo Vidal and Kingsley Coman - both opened their accounts for the season, before Sebastian Rode supplied the third for Pep Guardiola's league leaders.

The success puts the pressure on Borussia Dortmund to respond when they play Bayer Leverkusen on Sunday.

Their nearest challengers last season, Wolfsburg, ensured they did not lose any further ground with a 2-0 win over Hertha Berlin taking them up to third.

Bas Dost netted his fifth brace of 2015 inside the last 14 minutes - the second was a penalty, his first in the Bundesliga. Julian Draxler also impressed for the Wolves, who appear to have put the losses of Kevin De Bruyne and Ivan Perisic behind them.

Completing the top five on Saturday were Cologne and Ingolstadt, who both picked up 1-0 wins.

Peter Stoger's men triumphed against derby rivals Borussia Monchengladbach, who have now lost all five games in the league this season.

Anthony Modeste's seventh goal in six games for Cologne was enough for all three points while Moritz Hartmann's first ever Bundesliga goal ensured

Ingolstadt became the first team to win their first three away games in Germany's top flight.

Saturday's other fixture saw Hamburg and Eintracht Frankfurt share a goalless draw at the Volksparkstadion with both sides remaining in mid-table, well clear of any relegation worries.
