Hertha Berlin moved up to seventh with a 2-0 win at Eintracht Braunschweig, thanks to superb display from Ronny.

Hertha Berlin moved up to seventh in the Bundesliga with a 2-0 win at Eintracht Braunschweig, thanks to an inspirational performance from their playmaker Ronny. Restored to the starting XI for the first time since the victory over Mainz at the end of September, Ronny created both goals for the Old Lady, first teeing up Adrian Ramos to give the visitors the lead in the first half. He then set up Tolga Cigerci to make it two with 10 minutes remaining as Jos Luhukay's men took all three points and left Braunschweig rooted to the foot of the table. Braunschweig also ended the game with 10 men after Timo Perthel received a second yellow straight after Hertha's second goal. Luhukay picked Ronny in his side, despite being critical of his physical condition during the week, and it did not take the Brazilian long to justify his inclusion. After the hosts sent in the first few shots on Thomas Kraft's goal, Ronny began to take charge, as well as inspiring his team-mates. After 20 minutes he set up Ramos for the opening goal, whipping in a cross which the Hertha striker powerfully headed in for his eighth goal of the season, leaving Daniel Davari without a chance. Ronny had a go himself soon after, but his left-foot effort from long range sailed over the crossbar. Hertha's play revolved around Ronny, who helped set up Ramos for another chance which was saved well by Davari. Braunschweig showed good spirit, but for all their impressive build-up play, they rarely threatened Kraft's goal. The same could not be said for the visitors, who struck with their next opportunity to effectively seal victory. Ronny raced forwards with the ball and served Cigerci, who had supported his run and provided the finish into the far corner of Davari's goal. Perthel was then sent off for a second yellow card after trying to break down the counter-attack which led to the goal, compounding yet another disappointing evening for Braunschweig.
