Javier Hernandez scored twice for Bayer Leverkusen as they beat Augsburg 3-1 in the Bundesliga on Friday evening with Karim Bellarabi making history, scoring the 50,000th goal in the German league.
The visitors opened the scoring in the 23rd minute through Bellarabi's landmark Bundesliga strike to set the visitors on their way to victory.
Leverkusen doubled their lead five minutes before the break when Hernandez finished off a flowing passing move.
Augsburg were back in it on the hour when Dominik Kohr finished another impressive team move.
But their hopes of a comeback were dashed five minutes later when Hernandez scored his fifth goal in his last four matches and his second of the match after good work from teenager Kai Havertz.
Hernandez was withdrawn shortly afterwards, with Leverkusen in Champions League action next week, and Roger Schmidt's men comfortably held on.
Leverkusen now move up one place in the table ahead of the remaining matches this weekend, going into eighth, while Augsburg remain in 13th position.
