Grimsby host Port Vale in a must-win match for the Mariners at Blundell Park on Saturday. The hosts climbed out of the bottom two last Monday thanks to a 2-0 win over lowly Notts County and they now sit a point above Chester in the table. With Luton's relegation confirmed over the Easter period, Grimsby must fight it out with Chester and Bournemouth in a bid to avoid joining the Hatters in the Blue Square Premier next season. Grimsby boss Mike Newell could name an unchanged line-up from the side that beat Notts County on Monday. Midfielders JP Kalala (groin) and Paul Bolland (knee) are the only absentees for Newell and neither will play again this term. Danny Boshell marked his comeback from injury with a goal at Meadow Lane and he is set to continue in midfield.

      Vale team news

Captain Marc Richards looks likely to once again miss out and could miss the remainder of the season. The striker, Vale's leading goalscorer this season with 10 despite a campaign blighted by injury and suspension, has missed the club's last five matches with an Achilles problem. Gareth Owen (ankle), an unused substitute against Rotherham on Monday, gained further match fitness by featuring for the reserves on Wednesday. Dave Brammer (groin) and Scott Brown (calf) should be available having missed out against the Millers, while fellow midfielder Dave Howland is also expected to be in the frame after illness. Glover must decide who to start in attack with Kyle Perry partnering Louis Dodds last time out, and James Lawrie and Steve Thompson on the bench.
