Tom Huddlestone could make his first start of the season for Derby in Tuesday's Carabao Cup clash away to Hull City.
The midfielder was injured in pre-season, but could return for the cup clash at the KCOM Stadium along with Scott Malone.
However, Curtis Davies and Harry Wilson remain sidelined by injury and Jayden Bogle and Joe Ledley are major doubts after being injured in the weekend clash with Preston.
Hull boss Nigel Adkins plans to make changes for the game with George Long likely to make his competitive debut and youngsters Adam Curry, Robbie McKenzie and Brandon Fleming set to feature.
"There'll be changes - just like we did in the first round against Sheffield United," Adkins said.
"There'll be changes across the board because of the demands and the hectic schedule in the opening month of the season.
"I made nine changes at Sheffield United and the one outfield player that I kept in the side - Reece Burke - picked up an injury and missed the Blackburn Rovers game as a result, so I'm very mindful of that."
Hull haven't scored in any of their last three home matches against Derby in all competitions (D1 L2).
Derby have eliminated Hull in all three previous League Cup ties, doing so in 1965-66, 1969-70 and 2001-02.
Hull are unbeaten in their last seven home League Cup matches (W4 D3), with this match their first at the KCOM Stadium since winning 2-1 against Man Utd in the 2016-17 semi-final.
Hull boss Nigel Adkins lost his first home League Cup match in August 2007 as Scunthorpe manager against Hartlepool - since then, he has won eight in a row.
Derby midfielder Bradley Johnson has been involved in five goals in his four matches for the Rams against Hull in all competitions (4 goals, 1 assists).
