Former club next test for Wise and co

Dennis Wise is preparing to welcome his former club Swindon Town to Elland Road on Saturday. Another 30,000-plus crowd is expected to watch the Robins take on the Whites just over a year since Wise quit to take up the Leeds manager's position. Wise, with the help of Gus Poyet, guided Swindon to the top of League Two during their spell at the County Ground and they went on to clinch promotion at the end of the season. "I enjoyed my time at Swindon," said Wise. "I think we took 31 points from 16 games and set a good base with the start and the pre-season we had. "The player worked hard and I enjoyed working with them. Then this (the Leeds job) came along, it was a great opportunity and I wanted to take it.

Trained

"I don't have any regrets and I hope I don't get too much stick although I think I might do!" Wise will be hoping Frazer Richardson and Jermaine Beckford shake off the bugs that have laid them low this week in time for the game. He is already without stand-in skipper Jonathan Douglas and Ian Westlake due to injury but Alan Thompson played 90 minutes for the reserves at Scunthorpe although the game could be too soon for him. "It's good that Thommo got a game in midweek," said Wise. "He's trained 24 days in 64 I think which is a lot off and he's not quite there at the moment. "What I don't want to do is rush him; I want him to have a proper re-hab and get his fitness back to how he was." Jamie Vincent will once again be missing from Swindon's line-up and is expected to be out until next month at least. Andy Nicholas is likely to deputise.
