Goals from Dean Cox and Andrew Whing earned Leyton Orient a 2-0 victory over Notts County in League One on Saturday.

The win stretched Orient's unbeaten league run to 11 games. The day had started badly for County who were delayed in traffic and only arrived 45 minutes before the start. Then, after falling a goal behind after eight minutes, had manager Paul Ince sent off early in the second half following a touchline bust-up with Orient chief scout Kevin Dearden after a penalty decision had gone against the Magpies. The Os took the lead when a sublime pass from diminutive midfielder Tommy Carroll, on loan from Tottenham, was collected by Cox who controlled the ball superbly before slipping it past Stuart Nelson. Orient totally dominated the first half, winning eight corners to their opponents' single effort, and should have doubled their lead after 53 minutes when they were awarded a penalty when Ricky Ravenhill was adjudged to have handled an Alex Revell shot. The decision brought fury from the County bench with Ince throwing a cup of tea at Dearden, witnessed by the fourth official and resulting in Ince being sent to the stands, before Revell stepped up to blast his spot-kick straight at former Os goalkeeper Nelson. The visitors then enjoyed their best spell of the game, but the outcome was settled in the 79th minute when full-back Whing dived full-length to meet a Cox free-kick.
