Macclesfield v Crewe preview

Image: Simpson: Could tinker with Macc lineup

Team news for Tuesday's Johnstone's Paint Trophy clash between Macclesfield and Crewe at Moss Rose, kick-off 7:30pm.

Macclesfield boss Gary Simpson could shuffle his pack for the home clash with Crewe in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. Shaun Brisley, who has been out of action for a month already, has had a scan on his hip problem and will be out for up to four months if he requires surgery to cure the problem. Izak Reid will also miss out again with a groin injury but Richard Butcher and Paul Bolland are approaching full fitness following lengthy spells on the sidelines with knee and groin injuries respectively. Yet Simpson is considering changes and will assess his options for the visit of the Railwaymen. Simpson said: "It's a game we want to win and we'll look at what's best for the club." Crewe have no new problems ahead of their trip to Macclesfield in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. Alex were involved in an amazing 5-5 league draw with Chesterfield on Saturday, where Byron Moore and AJ Leitch-Smith were handed their first starts of the season. Clayton Donaldson and Joel Grant were the players that made way at the b2net Stadium and they could come into contention for recalls. After conceding four goals in the last 16 minutes against the Spireites, boss Dario Gradi could opt to shake up his defence by bringing Mat Mitchell-King back into the side. Last season's top scorer Calvin Zola, who has rejected a loan move to Southend, will hope for a run-out after failing to make it off the bench in three of the last four matches. The game kicks off at 7.30pm.
