Morecambe v AFC Wimbledon preview

Image: Carlton: Unlikely to feature

Team news ahead of Saturday's League Two clash between Morecambe and AFC Wimbledon at the Globe Arena.

Morecambe are likely to be without joint top-scorer Danny Carlton for the home fixture. Carlton has struck seven goals in all competitions and is leading the Shrimps' scoring chart alongside Kevin Ellison. But the striker missed the Johnstone's Paint Trophy clash with Preston after being stretchered off with a knee injury in the previous game with Torquay. Although the injury is not considered to be as serious as first feared, he will probably not be available against the Dons. Manager Jim Bentley will also be without Paul Scott as he is recovering from knee surgery, although the boss is boosted by the return of several players. Midfielder Gary McDonald, Lewis Alessandra and captain Will Haining have shrugged off their respective injuries. Luke Moore could return to the AFC Wimbledon squad for the trip. The midfielder missed Tuesday night's Johnstone's Paint Trophy penalty shoot-out win over Stevenage with a back problem but boss Terry Brown is hopeful he will be fit. Defender Gareth Gwillim will miss out again with a knee injury which looks set to sideline him for a fortnight, so Chris Bush will continue at left-back. Brown made a host of changes in midweek and will recall goalkeeper Seb Brown, despite youngster Jack Turner impressing with two penalty saves. Skipper Jamie Stuart was also rested and will return in defence, but Tuesday's performance has given Brown some selection dilemmas with Brett Johnson, James Mulley and Ryan Jackson pushing to keep their places.
