Defender Adams is banned after he was dismissed against Chester last week in the aftermath of a horror tackle on former Stockport midfielder McLachlan, who only suffered light brusising.
Wayne Curtis (ribs) remains a major doubt, but defender Michael Howard and striker Matt Blinkhorn are long-term absentees with back and knee injuries respectively.
Meanwhile, loan strikers Rene Howe and Danny Carlton will resume their partnership in attack.
