Shrimps wait on striker; County sweat over winger

Morecambe manager Sammy McIlroy is hoping to welcome back top scorer Rene Howe for the visit of Notts County. The on-loan Peterborough striker missed Monday's 1-0 win at Macclesfield with a virus but should return to the squad as the Shrimps look to keep their play-off hopes alive. Fellow forward Garry Hunter is likely to retain his place in the starting line-up after recovering from an injury in time to play the full 90 minutes at Moss Rose.

      Hamshaw unsure

Matt Hamshaw is a doubt for Notts County. The winger is nursing an ankle injury and Magpies manager Ian McParland will make a late decision on his fitness. Stephen Hunt has been an unused substitute in the last two matches after recovering from his ankle problem and the defender is expected to be involved in the squad once more. McParland may opt to make some changes to his side after the Easter schedule, and midfielder Gavin Strachan and striker Jamie Forrester could come into the reckoning. Russell Hoult will resume training next week after recovering from the shoulder injury that has kept him sidelined since mid-December. The veteran goalkeeper will be hoping to make a first-team appearance before the end of the season.
