Marouane Fellaini pulls out of Belgium squad due to injury

Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has withdrawn from the Belgium squad through injury.

Louis van Gaal confirmed the 27-year-old missed Saturday's 2-0 Premier League win at home to West Brom with an unspecified injury sustained in training on Friday.

That issue has subsequently forced Fellaini out of Belgium's squad for the upcoming friendlies against Italy and Spain, it was confirmed on Sunday evening.

Red Devils manager Marc Wilmots posted on Twitter: ".@Fellaini and @J--Lukaku94 are out for #belita & #belspa. Speedy recovery!"
