Greek side Iraklis have accepted a £950,000 offer from Nottingham Forest for former Everton striker Apostolos Vellios, according to Sky sources.
Vellios has spoken to Forest's directors and is understood to be keen on the offer, but will decide after returning from holiday.
If he does accept, the deal could go through next week. He scored three goals in 22 games for Everton over three seasons before leaving for Belgian side Lierse in 2014.
Vellios, who began is career with Iraklis, rejoined the Greek side last summer, scoring 11 goals in 27 games.
Meanwhile, Forest are still looking for a permanent replacement for Dougie Freedman and Sky Bet's odds on Gianfranco Zola becoming their next manager have been slashed to 1/4, having been as much as 20/1 a few weeks ago.
