German youngster impresses so far this season

Werder Bremen midfielder Philipp Bargfrede looks set to earn a new contract at the Weserstadion. The 20-year-old Germany U21 international has featured in 11 of the 12 games played by Bremen in the Bundesliga so far this season. Bargfrede's current contract expires in June 2011 but he is still on terms that were agreed last year when he was amongst the reserves at the club. Werder's general manager Klaus Allofs told Bild newspaper: "We have got eyes on this. "When there is someone playing better it is pretty normal to keep a look on his contract and make changes to the content of his contract." Bargfrede admitted he would not have to think twice about signing a new deal at his current club. "Would there be a raise, who would reject this?" he added. "I really like being at the club and do not even dream about moving on."
