Samson and Murray next in line to commit to St Mirren

Craig Samson and Hugh Murray have followed David Barron and Steven Thomson's example by committing to St Mirren. 32-year-old Murray has signed a one-year deal, although there is an option of a further year which will be based on his number of appearances over the upcoming campaign. Murray has the distinction of holding the club record for the most 'official' competitive match appearances (459) for the club, he is also the holder of most league appearances (396). Tony Fitzpatrick handed Murray his St Mirren debut back in August 1997 in an away match against Airdrie. Joining Murray in committing to St Mirren is goalkeeper Samson after the 27-year-old penned a two-year deal that keeps him with the SPL club until the summer of 2013. Samson - who has also played for Kilmarnock, Queen of the South, St Johnstone, Dundee United, Ross County, Dundee, Hereford United and Ayr United - joined last summer and went on to make 11 appearances.
