Sky Sports understands a number of English clubs are weighing up a move for Tunisian midfielder Mejdi Traoui.

Traoui is a free agent after seeing out his contract with Esperance and he is keen to explore the option of continuing his career in England.

The 30-year-old has a wealth of experience having won over 60 caps for Tunisia and represented his country at three Africa Cup of Nations tournaments and also at the 2004 Olympics.

The likes of Newcastle, Hull and Wolves have been credited with an interest in Traoui and the player's agent, Jesse Learoyd-Hill, admits the versatile midfielder is keen to come to England.

"Mejdi has a couple of options but we are weighing them up," Learoyd-Hill told Sky Sports.

"It's not often an experienced international is still available after the window has closed, so we will make a decision soon.

"Of course he would like to play in England but nothing has been decided yet."
