Cambridge have signed Rotherham midfielder Conor Newton on a two-year deal.
The 23-year-old has joined the U's on a free transfer after being told he did not figure in the Millers' plans this season.
Newton, who joined the Millers in 2014, made 14 appearances before falling out of favour.
Newton's arrival at the Abbey Stadium continues an impressive summer recruitment drive by Richard Money, having brought in Leon Legge, Mark Roberts, Keith Kane, Barry Corr, Elliot Omozusi, Luke Berry , Daniel Carr and Jeff Hughes.
