Crawley have signed former Watford midfielder Ross Jenkins on a contract until January, subject to Football League ratification.

Jenkins, who has also had loan spells at Plymouth Argyle and Barnet, is available straight away for Crawley and could feature against Yeovil at the weekend.

The 24-year-old, who made 95 appearances for the Hornets after graduating from the Vicarage Road club's academy, was released by Watford in the summer.

"Ross has got a good pedigree in the game and you can see that in the time he has been with us over the last couple of weeks," Crawley boss Mark Yates told the club's website.

"I think he's an excellent player who can operate anywhere in midfield. Obviously he wants to be playing in the League again and we're pleased to have him with us. He gives us another option in that area of the team."
